 Visiting Devon in the Winter

 As a local, I love Devon whatever the time of year but Winter is a special time. You can enjoy all of our fabulous beaches without all the crowds, it really is bliss!

 Dittisham Hideaway - South Hams.

If you are looking for somewhere a bit special to escape to this winter that’s dog friendly then check out the amazing treehouses at Dittisham Hideaway in the South Hams in Devon.
Kick back and relax with luxury interiors and your own private furnished deck and wood-fired hot tub. All of the treehouses have log burners so ideal for those chilly evenings.
If you can bear to drag yourself away from the treehouse, Dartmouth is just over a ten minute drive away.

 Skylark is the perfect balance between luxury and simplicity with the unmissable high light of the deep blue bath tub on the veranda for long lazy soaks looking out at miles of rolling hills and fields.

 Exmoor is literally just across the road to explore with the dog  or head to the coast to tackle a stretch of the coast path along the headland from Lynmouth.

 Carpenter Cabin – Devon Dens

A gorgeous well equipped off grid cabin with private decking area for the all  important fire pit. Nestled next to the pond you will have everything you need for a truly relaxing nature retreat away from it all.

 Devon Dens is located in the quieter West Devon with Dartmoor close by to walk and explore . If you fancy going further afield then Bude is a forty minute  drive with some of the best beaches in the South West and the fabulous sea pool.

 Sleepy Owl - North Devon

Set the most tranquil of settings this is the perfect spot to really get away from it all. Jackson’s stand out feature is the private wood fired hot tub surrounded by trees in the corner of the garden. Perfect for late night star gazing.

 Lots of dog walking opportunities along the nearby River Dart, walk along the Kingsbridge Estuary or explore the rugged moorlands.

 The Roundhouses – Bude

 Ok, we know Bude is techically Cornwall but it’s just three miles from the border of Devon and such a fab place we just had to Include it in our list! These Roundhouses offer an uber-glamping experience with wood burning stoves and underfloor heating so perfect for that winter get away .

Quirky interieors and the all important hot tub to relax in after walking the beac and coast paths at Bude.

Dog friendly Round houses available so you can bring the dog and enjoy the slower pace of life surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside.

 Shepherds Hut – Lower Chapeltown.

 A truly unique and stylish lodge with a hot tub awaits you at Lower Chapeltown, nestled in an enclosed and private part of the owners 300 acres of farmland in a beautiful part of Devon.
The lodge provides a comforaybale living space with the cosy sleeping area in the separately situated Shepherds hut. Outside the property is fjully enclosed which is perfect for the dog and there is even a small separate paddock ideal for ball games or exercing the dog.

Lots to see and explore with both Exeter and Tiverton within  an easy drive.

 The Cabin on the Lake - Lower Whitsleigh Farm

 Kick back and relax in a little slice of Devon Heavon. The cabin on the lake is the perfect to get away from it all and recharge your battery for a while. A unique and tranquil place this truly is a private getaway in the North Devon countryside. Set in a secluded spot on an island there is a platform above the water which is the perfect spot for stargazing and dreaming on the hammock.

 There are beautiful sandy beaches at Instow, Saunton Sands, or Braunton Burrows – dog walks galore!  The picture perfect villages of Appledore and Clovelly are closeby too.
